‘The Resurrection Game’ is the formative title track of Emma Swift’s upcoming album. The track is able to wander seamlessly from its folky, singer-songwriter opening into a cinematic, string-backed experience that feels full of emotion. The track is about her experiences at “a seven day camp in Northern California where you and a group of complete strangers shut yourselves off from the world - no phones, no computers - and participate in a range of experiential therapy treatments to identify and release negative patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior, rooted in childhood conditioning. It is supposed to encourage self-discovery and the development of new, more positive ways of being. It was certainly a very positive experience for me, and unlocked a more candid kind of self-expression that I had been holding back.” Emma Swift’s new album, The Resurrection Game, is out on September 12th, 2025, via Tiny Ghost Records. -Dan Peeke
